Earlier this week, I found out I didn’t get a job I had interviewed for. I had three total interviews, and the company even called to check my references. While I had no expectations to get this job, it would’ve been good experience and a full time salary. I’m still a bit disappointed. What’s funny is that I never pictured my life like this. I’m a glorified housewife who works… View Post »
The victory lap
This weekend signals the end of Mac’s leave. He’ll be heading back to Afghanistan in a few days, so we’re trying to soak up those last precious moments. We’ve had quite a time these past two weeks with new places to explore and a wedding thrown in the mix. We’re going to see “Guardians of the Galaxy” today and hanging out with my friends tomorrow. Hope everyone has a… View Post »

Bride and groom Rice Krispie treats
One wedding tradition in the Pittsburgh area is a cookie table. Family and friends bake lots of cookies and treats to serve along with wedding cake (or wedding pie as Leslie and Adam are having). My mom and I were talking about what sort of cookies to make, and we wanted to make sure we had a mix of flavors and mouthfeels. We came up with a bunch of different… View Post »
Leslie’s wedding
This weekend was a complete and total blur. We drove up to PA on Friday afternoon. After grabbing lunch, we headed over to the reception venue to set up. Adam’s dad arrived with the bar equipment, and we were the only ones there. My family isn’t known for being late, so I called Leslie. Turns out she was in a bit of a fender bender en route to the facility…. View Post »
