Looking back
A year ago tomorrow, Mac and I said our vows (again) and celebrated our marriage with our friends and family. I definitely have a different perspective on our wedding a year later than I did the week leading up to it. And I have to say that I think I would do some things differently now. Flowers and centerpieces: After seeing them, I would use the dark red from my… View Post »
Home organization
I feel like today’s modern woman has to blog about her perfect marriage, tidy home, nutritious recipes cooked fresh daily, and her 2.5 children. Being Mormon, living in Utah, and owning Etsy shops are bonus points. Clearly, all I’ve got going for me is the marriage part. Because of Pinterest, I’ve spent hours perusing organizational methods of wives and mothers in an effort to corral the ever-expanding piles of crap… View Post »
How does your garden grow?
Last spring, I decided to plant a starter garden and test out just how green my thumbs are. I should’ve but didn’t plant one in 2011 because we had just planted sod in the backyard. I didn’t plant a garden this year because we’re moving. Once we get to Augusta, it’ll be too late to plant most vegetables. And since we have no idea where we’re going after that, I can’t really say… View Post »
Separation anxiety
Mac was deployed for 368 days. We spent about 8 months apart before he even came home for leave. Even after all that, I still don’t like spending nights without him. I travel for work, and this occasionally requires overnight trips. He’s still in the Army, so he regularly goes to the field for training. Thankfully, he hasn’t had as many overnighters since he was promoted and moved up to… View Post »
I prefer “housewife”
Happy birthday to my wonderful mother! Stay-at-home wife, homemaker, or housewife. We have a bunch of different terms for married women who don’t work. I personally call myself a housewife with 1950s glam and vodka a la “Mad Men” in mind, but wearing yoga pants instead of pearls and pumps. But I do have a job, I just work part time. I must also state that I don’t have… View Post »

Happy Founders’ Day!
A very Happy Founders’ Day to Alpha Gamma Delta! From Alpha Gamma Delta 109 years ago today, our eleven founders gathered at the house of Dr. Wellesley Coddington to officially found the Alpha chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta at Syracuse University. Joining Alpha Gam was one of my best decisions in college, and I truly cherish being able to count myself as a member of such an amazing organization. I’m… View Post »
Spring Vox Box
I signed up for Influenster several months ago. Basically, you link up your social media accounts to earn points and badges which can qualify you for the Vox Box (a sample box) or other opportunities. This month’s box had a variety of samples: 1. OSIS Gelastic: An $18 ultra strong gel that provides all day definition and control.Nice subtle scent, very sticky on the hands, not for daily use (for… View Post »
