So Mac and I discovered we had a mutual love of cabin and lodge décor during our roadtrips in the summer of 2009. The long hours on the road gave us lots of time to find out what we like and how we would decorate our future home(s). Then, at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, a little kid with his grandfather offered up a gem of a saying. While… View Post »
Sunday Social: movies
1. What is your favorite movie of all time?TITANIC. I seriously own six copies of it and watch it almost once a week. 2. What is your favorite movie quote? What is the best movie to watch for a girls night… View Post »
There’s no crying in baseball
Or that time I cried at a baseball game. So I’m a huge Braves fan. Like 90% of my excitement of moving to Georgia was being about two hours away from Atlanta. 10% was leaving Fayetteville. In the past few years, Mac and I have attended Bobby Cox’s last home series, Chipper Jones’ last home series, and Chipper Jones’ jersey retirement (last night). Yes, I did cry when Chipper Jones… View Post »
One week
A week ago, we packed up our stuff and headed down here to Augusta. In that time we’ve unpacked everything (in only two days). Adopted a cat. And decided we really could part with our Rock Band gear. We still have some tweaking to do like replacing the bookshelf that broke so we can put away our books and hanging a few pictures. Other than that, we’re really settled in with… View Post »
So this happened
Mac and I have been talking about getting a cat since we moved in together three years ago. Our original plan was to bring my cat from my parents’ house to North Carolina, but my brother-in-law is crazy and didn’t let us have a cat. Three years later, my cat is pushing 18, and we didn’t think it was the greatest idea to move her 600 miles for six months… View Post »
Sunday Social: style
What is your favorite store to shop at?I love me some Loft. In Fay, I tended to shop at Old Navy because we didn’t have Loft. Augusta is a different story 🙂 If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?Well, I wouldn’t covet something I could afford. Alice Temperley or Tory Burch. Alice Temperley Resort 2014 collection from www.whatkatewore.com Must have closet staple? The Wonder… View Post »
Then and now
Wednesday was our last day at Fort Bragg. Some days, it feels like we just moved here. Between June 2010 and June 2013, I’ve had three jobs, we got engaged, we dealt with a year-long deployment, we got married, we had a wedding, and we’ve managed to survive living with three other men. So enjoy some then and now photos. Our house then. And now. Across the street then. And now…. View Post »
Our Army moving announcements
We’ve decided to send out moving announcements so that people have our new address. I know we can do email, but I like the personal touch of mail. I found some cute designs. I think this will be the selection for this move, and I’ll print them out as postcards. And this will be for our post-course announcement. It doubles as a Christmas card which is appropriate because Mac’s course… View Post »
25for25: June
And we’re halfway through the year, only 3 months left until my birthday. In honor of my 25th birthday this year (umm, what?), I’ve decided against traditional new year’s resolutions and am hopping on the 25 for 25 bandwagon. Basically, 25 goals I want to accomplish by my 25th birthday on September 18. 1. Be a better Christian: attend church regularly, finish The Purpose Driven Life, read the Bible. We’ll be… View Post »
