I had my first weigh-in with Ideal Protein today. Generally, you would do it a full week after starting the program, but that falls during the long weekend. So far (I began on Friday), I’m down about 4.5 pounds and 4.5 inches, with one inch alone from my belly. I like these results. I definitely want to keep up with this to lose a few more inches each week. Here’s… View Post »
Got Peyton?
Mac and I spent our Veterans Day in Charlotte attending the Broncos-Panthers game. I’m a lifelong Bronco fan (not a fair weather fan as some of my friends have charged). We did move to Colorado when I was two, so yeah. Need proof? How about a photo of me from the year we moved from Colorado to Alabama? This shirt is so old, I had it before the Broncos redesigned… View Post »
Another day, another diet
I’ve blogged about my weight struggles in the past and have decided to try out something new. I first came across Ideal Protein through Mrs. Sunhat on Weddingbee. I looked into it, couldn’t find a medical office in the area that offered it, and started the HCG diet. Driving home from the Junior League office last week, I noticed that a local chiropractor now offers it. A bit more research… View Post »
The Tudor Book Blog Reading Challenge Accepted
The title reminds of the “Before and After” categories on Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, haha. So, I’m sitting in a hotel room in Asheville (tastefully decorated with bears, moose, and other woodsy touches) and have discovered no fewer than four holes in my socks. I’m currently splitting my attention between Pinterest and “Finding Bigfoot.” This show is addicting. I was perusing the the History boards and found The Tudor… View Post »
A Liebster Award for me?
I was recently nominated for a Liebster Award by a dear reader, Stephanie at Share the Love. She has a great blog, so check her out! I’m extremely flattered because I kind of think that my blog sucks. And wonder why y’all read it. Thanks for sticking with me! The Liebster award is given by bloggers to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The meaning: Liebster… View Post »
Bookworm status
Fun fact about me is that I love to read. Somewhere in second or third grade, I discovered historical fiction and biographies. These and the Sweet Valley series made up most of my reading in elementary school. I’m not a “trendy” reader: I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books, none of the Hunger Games trilogy, and I read the romance novel, The Da Vinci Code, in one day several… View Post »
Real Army Wives
Since a vast majority of military members are male and a good number married, it’s only natural that their wives get together. Officers’ wives have a grand, old tradition of “coffee groups” where the ladies meet up for coffee or lunch and gossip shamelessly (see the show “Army Wives” for perpetration of said stereotype). Mac’s battalion also has a wives’ group, and as the wife of a lieutenant, I attend… View Post »
Baby steps
So Dave Ramsey’s plan is based on completing seven baby steps to financial peace. His books discuss these at length and how to accomplish them. Step 1: Start an emergency fund of $1000. Status: Done. As I mentioned before, we have some money saved up. Step 2: Pay down debt with the debt snowball. Status: Haha, not yet. We’ve just started our budget analysis, so we’re looking at where the… View Post »
Ready, fire, aim
I’ve jumped off the deep end and am chugging the Dave Ramsey Kool-Aid. Hell, I stayed up till 2:30 am reading and finished the book today. Overall, I’ve realized that my parents did a really job teaching me about money; I just did a bad job of learning. Hindsight, thou art a heartless bitch. I also wrote an amazing version of this post last night and managed to DELETE it…. View Post »
