Keto breakfast ideas
I’m a big breakfast fan. Specifically, I’m a big breakfast carb fan. Starting keto concerned me because I love pancakes, waffles, and pretty much every other morning carb. I also wasn’t interested in eating eggs every single day. So I researched a lot of keto breakfast ideas, and I’ve rounded up some of my own creations and a few solid recipes I’ve tried. I normally prep breakfast one week at a time, and I rotate through each week to avoid recipe fatigue.
Keto breakfast bake
Saute half a pound of breakfast meat (bulk sausage, bacon, or chorizo). Stir in one or two cups of your favorite vegetables and cook until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. I personally use bell peppers, onions, and spinach. In a separate bowl, whisk together a dozen eggs, a quarter cup of heavy cream, and a cup of your favorite cheese. Grease a 9×13 pan, and preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spread the meat and veggie blend evenly across the bottom of the pan. Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the meat and veggies. Bake for about 20 minutes until set and lightly browned. Cut into six pieces. You can also bake these in a muffin tin.
Sausage or bacon and cheese
We keep pre-cooked sausage links on hand or cook up a package of bacon on the weekends. Slice up a few pieces of your favorite block cheese (try a really sharp cheddar!) and serve it with your sausage or bacon if you are running short on time. This is the easiest breakfast for me.

Keto pancakes – from Keto is Life
These pancakes don’t puff up a lot and taste similar to crepes. They also are easy to make up in a batch and save for the week. This recipe can be used for waffles, as well. Heat up a griddle to medium-high heat. Crack six eggs into a blender. Add a stick of cream cheese and your preferred pancake seasoning (I use a teaspoon each of vanilla and pumpkin pie seasoning). Blend until smooth, scraping the sides if necessary. Butter the griddle. Ladle the batter onto the griddle and cook until lightly browned on each side.
Keto sausage balls – from Keto Size Me
If you love traditional sausage balls, you’ll want to try this keto-friendly option. They use almond flour instead of Bisquick. I like the taste combination of Jimmy Dean sage bulk sausage and a nice extra sharp cheddar cheese. I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but these keep well during the week.
