Welcome back to our second to last Life Lately update for 2021! The scream face emoji is a perfect way to describe the fact that 2021 is almost over.
- In the biggest news of the month, year, decade, century, and millennium, the ATLANTA BRAVES WON THE WORLD SERIES. I became a Braves fan when we moved to Alabama in 1996, the year after they won their last World Series. It’s hard to describe how amazing seeing your team play in and win the World Series for the first time in a long time (I may have cried). The playoffs went pretty well, and I wasn’t as stressed out as I was last year. My orders for World Series gear have been placed, though I am a bit bummed to miss another championship parade.
- Honestly, October kind of sucked. Mac and I have been super busy, and we’ve been dealing with personal and professional stressors. Purrburger hasn’t been doing well, so we’re hoping to figure out what we can do there. It wasn’t all bad, but we’re both glad to have this month behind us.
- October was also full of travels. I took two work trips and spent my weekend in Virginia for class. In all, it was probably 6000 or so miles of distance traveled. We had planned to go to the Denver-Washington football game, but we didn’t want to leave Purrburger home alone all weekend. I’m pretty sure I need a mental health month to bounce back from this semester.
- On to our new flavors. I grabbed these Doritos Cool Ranch Lays at Sam’s Club. They’re different. I think they’re missing some of the corn flavor that regular Doritos have because these are plain potato chips. Overall, a solid meh. Next up are the Pokemon Oreos. These are the regular cookie and cream flavor, but they have Pokemon characters on the cookies. It was really fun going through them and looking for Pikachu and Charmander (the best Pokemon, in my opinion). Finally, I found the Jalapeno Popper Goldfish. Mac was a fan of these because he loves jalapeno poppers. I thought they had a pretty accurate jalapeno popper flavor, though I’m not as a big a fan of them.
Do you have any fun plans for this month and Thanksgiving?

I’m sorry Purrburger wasn’t feeling well in October. That is super stressful. I hate when I’m trying to guess what’s wrong with my cats and hope that I’m picking up on their cues being a kitty mind reader. Feel better soon, kitty friend!

Thank you! I wish we could make her understand why we’re taking her to the vet and giving her medicine.
