Who’s ready for summer, long days, and lots of fun? This summer feels a lot of more optimistic and hopeful than last summer, and that’s something I am truly thankful for.
- May was a fun travel month for us. We kicked off the month in Tucson and southern Arizona. Then we spent Memorial Day weekend in Santa Fe, exploring, eating in restaurants, and relaxing. This summer should be pretty busy for both of us, so we took some time off before everything gets too crazy. We’re hoping that our next trip away with be over Labor Day.
- And I’m officially a doctoral student! The first term started this week, and I’ve tried to jump right in. Books have been ordered, and discussion board answers are posted. One of my cohort mates posted a super helpful schedule with the breakdown of when our assignments are due. I’ll be balancing going to school full-time and working full-time, and I’m planning to keep up blogging along the way.
- Our ninth wedding anniversary is this week. It’s hard to believe that our wedding was nine years (and five states) ago. Mac’s unit finally got approval to eat at restaurants off post, so we may try to go out to dinner this week.
- In the new flavor world, I grabbed a bag of these Jerk Chicken Lays while in Santa Fe. They’re spicy and savory, so they may be worth a try if you like chips like that. I haven’t seen a ton of new flavors, but I also haven’t gone to Wal-Mart or Target super recently. I’m sure these are the highlight of my monthly updates.
What are you summer plans? Are you taking any trips?

Congrats on starting your PhD program! I’m sure you’ll settle in nicely to a routine for work, school and life 🙂 Hope you get to enjoy some new restaurants with Mac’s new restaurant freedom.

They were interesting. I’m still on the fence about how much I like the savoriness of potato chips, lol.
