During our last trip to Nashville, we decided to extend our trip by a few days in order to visit the big touristy spots. Our first stop was the Parthenon. The Parthenon in Nashville was originally built as a temporary structure during Tennessee’s centennial celebration of statehood. It was so popular that it was rebuilt out of stone. It’s a good place to check out during any trip to Nashville.
Address and location
The Parthenon in Nashville is located in Centennial Park. The park sits at West End Avenue and 25th Avenue. Parking is available at several locations in the park.
Cost
Admission costs $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for children and seniors.
It’s also a Blue Star museum, so service members and family members get in free.
What to do
Your admission includes access to the exhibits and displays inside. The basement of the Parthenon in Nashville features an art museum and the gift shop. I enjoyed the exhibition of American art on display during our visit. You can also walk through the main portion of the temple and view the statue of Athena. And the air conditioning inside doesn’t hurt if you’re visiting in the summer. Be sure to explore the grounds of the Parthenon. Take a stroll around the temple and the paths through the park. There is a pleasant pond with gardens in the park. You’ll find some lovely views of the Parthenon.
