1. I say “finally” because Mac hasn’t had a weekend since Easter. He spent two solid weeks in the field, came home Monday night, and had to be back at work at 8 am on Tuesday.
2. Because Mac is gone so much, I can adjust to him being home or not pretty quickly. Monday night, I zoned out watching TV. I rolled over to go to sleep and was completely surprised to see someone sleeping next to me. #wifeoftheyear
3. We had a wives’ get-together last weekend while the men were in the field. I spent 4 hours with over 15 children, and the exhaustion I felt rivals what I felt after finishing a half-marathon.
4. I’m totally a crazy cat mom and sent Mac a daily picture of Purrburger while he was in the field.
5. After a year and a half of being in non-traditional Army situations, it’s nice to be back with a proper unit. I’m happy to have coffees and FRG meetings to attend. Yesterday, we had an FRG barbeque, and I was able to meet Mac’s soldiers. One of them is married to the most charming German lady, and I’m genuinely enjoying adult company (sadly, the cat isn’t too chatty. But she is currently watching Pocahontas with me. JK, now she’s staring at me because I tried to sneak a picture of her.).
Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!

Your cat is so sweet!! No such thing as too many cat pictures in my book. Glad to hear that you’re enjoying your new friends and the people in your community. Sounds like a good set up for your family 🙂

So nice that you are able to have more adult interaction now!!
And i have to say…even just spending an afternoon with my 2 nieces, I get exhausted!!! It’s crazy how much energy little ones have.

Love the cat selfie! My parents send me pictures of our cat pretty often – she provides lots of entertainment and cuteness. Happy weekend!

When you’re away from all of the comforts of what feels like traditional army life it is always nice to jump back into it! Enjoy your weekend!
