Our final tourist spot on our Nashville trip was the Mother Church of Country Music, the Ryman Auditorium. We weren’t able to make it to Grand Ole Opry, so we checked this out while in downtown Nashville. The Ryman is a really neat venue and is definitely worth exploring.
Address and Location
You’ll find the Ryman Auditorium at 116 5th Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s about a block off Broadway and walking distance from the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Cost
Tour tickets for adults ages 12 and up cost $25.95. Children from ages 4-11 cost $16.95. The Ryman also hosts concerts, and tickets for those are purchased separately from tours.
What to do
Your tour starts off with a movie about the history of the Ryman. From there, you can head into the main part of the building. The architecture and details of the building are really beautiful. Be sure to check out the many displays around the back of the auditorium. They have interesting information and memorabilia about the different performances and performers at the Ryman. The Grand Ole Opry called the Ryman Auditorium home for over 30 years. You can check out the dressing rooms backstage that the main performers have used over the years.
You can even pay to record a song at the studio in the Ryman. If you are interested in making a record, you can book that during your tour.
