Country Music Hall of Fame

The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville

Another must-see on our Nashville trip was the Country Music Hall of Fame. I’m a country music fan, so I wanted to check it out. It’s definitely a must-see for any country music fan. We squeezed in a trip after our trolley tour on our last day in Nashville. Honestly, I was so engrossed in the exhibits that I didn’t take a lot of photos.

Address and Location

You’ll find the Country Music Hall of Fame at 222 5th Avenue South in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s pretty hard to miss as it’s the very large building shaped like a piano. You can also walk to it from the Ryman Auditorium.

Cost

Admission for adults is $25.95. Children ages 6-12 are $15.95. Children 5 and under are free but do require a ticket to enter the building (you can get these at the box office).

What to Do

Explore the Country Music Hall of Fame Rotunda. You’ll find the plaques of all the members. It’s similar in design to most of the professional sports halls of fame. I have to say that Dolly Parton’s plaque looks nothing like her.

From there, head into the Museum. The museum is a mix of permanent and rotating displays. You can check the website to see what new exhibits are coming before your visit. The Alabama exhibit had just opened before our visit. They also had a walk-through exhibit from Zac Brown Band.

The Hall of Fame is a rather large complex with lots of memorabilia from country’s biggest stars (including one of Elvis’ cars and his piano). You can find outfits from famous performance or music videos. I loved seeing Shania Twain’s leopard outfit from the “That Don’t Impress Me Much Video.”
