I don’t know why, but doing super housewifey things is really fun to me. Except cleaning, that all around sucks. We bought a deep freeze when we moved to Colorado, and we’ve been slowing filling it up. I can prep these meals in large batches and then pop them in the deep freeze for later meals. At the moment, I work late once or twice a week to attend meetings…. View Post »
The new 9 to 5
So I’m in grad school. I have a weird schedule because I work part-time during the week and go to class on Saturday. I was going to bed between 10 pm and midnight and waking up anywhere from 6 am to 9 am. I set two alarms to get my going but always woke up sluggish and not quite rested. I was almost always tired in the afternoon and would… View Post »
My new skin care routine
A while back, I blogged about my eight million kinds of moisturizer. I kept having skin issues, so I self-diagnosed myself with cystic acne last year. I have really strange skin: my T-zone makes the Exxon-Valdez look like a minor oil slick while my cheeks and chin are uncomfortably dry. I also have Tricare, so my procedure timeline will probably look different than a non-Tricare insurance provider. At the end of September, I had an elective surgery to remove a ganglion cyst on my left wrist. I’ve had a cyst here on and off for about ten years, but this… View Post »
Seven Falls

Seven Falls is a natural waterfall in a box canyon on the western edge of town. It was privately owned for decades until a devastating flood destroyed most of the park in 2013. The Broadmoor bought the property and… View Post »
Funeral sandwiches
Does anyone else completely love King’s Hawaiian rolls? I adore them and try to find any recipe I can that uses Hawaiian rolls as an ingredient. They may have a terrible name, but these funeral sandwiches are delicious. Funeral sandwiches come together quickly and keep well without temperature control, so they’re great party food. I’ve made them for events and rarely have any leftovers. Also, they get rave reviews from… View Post »
