As I mentioned, Mac and I moved downstairs to the master bedroom. We’ve done some major redecorating throughout the house but didn’t repaint any of the rooms. Here’s our Fayetteville home tour. First up is our living room. We bought the couches last spring in the clearance section of the post furniture store. Our table set came from Bullard here in town. The bookshelves are a recent purchase from Ikea. Next… View Post »
Chocolate chip cannoli cake
Say that ten times fast. Mac decided he wanted this cake for his birthday, so I had to create a recipe. Elizabeth’s, a small Italian restaurant on the way home from church, has a cannoli cake listed on the menu but never has it when we go there. I wrote down the description then set out to make my own version. The original cake recipe I found is superb, so I… View Post »
Opening Day
Today is the favorite day of the year for baseball fans. The grass is green. The bats are stained and tarred. The uniforms are crisp and clean. Six months, 30 teams, 182 games. Every team in undefeated. Every team can go the distance and see the Promised Land in October. For the first time in my memory, Chipper Jones won’t be wearing number 10 and protecting third base. Happy Easter!
Today dawned cold and rainy, but we’re celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Even the pastor thanked those of us at the 7 am sunrise service for not hitting snooze and going to the 11 am service. We’re off to brunch with the in-laws at Hilltop House, so enjoy my two favorite Easter hymns. Hope everyone has a blessed and safe Easter!
Oooh, another Liebster Award

The Liebster Award is given by bloggers to bloggers who have less than 200 followers. I found it hard to look at the number of followers given all the different ways we connect these days (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc.) but I know you’ll like the… View Post »
Happy Birthday
Today is my beloved’s 27th birthday. Mac spent his last night in his mid-20s playing Lego Harry Potter. This included him running over Malfoy with a train because I asked him to. True love, y’all. Hard to believe that our first date was four years ago on his 23rd birthday. Sadly, the restaurant where we had our $7 first date (Backstreet’s) is now closing. I thought I was hilarious with… View Post »
