1. I woke up at the ass-crack of dawn this morning to go to the DMV. Now that I’m awake, I have zero motivation to leave my very warm bed and deal with humanity. 2. It’s officially fall. I’m excited because 1) I love fall, and 2) winter is coming (you’re welcome, fellow GOTers). Winter = Mac. 3. Mac finally got an RFO, so we’ve been house hunting online. I… View Post »
On being a boring lifestyle blogger
My blog is a mish-mash of topics. Mostly, I’d say I fall in the “lifestyle” blogger category, mainly because I don’t cook these days (unless we count heating up Lean Cuisines). Unfortunately for you, dear readers, my life is pretty boring. I don’t recap my weekends because I don’t do anything. Football has helped mix things up, and I have a lot of plans and trips coming up in the next few… View Post »
My life as told by cookbooks
The other night, I had my first GMM (membership meeting) for the new year with the Junior League of Northern Virginia. These forward-thinking gals include a copy of the League cookbook in your dues, so I picked up my copy. I’ve been in Junior League four years, and I’ve had the pleasure of serving in three Leagues. 26
Today is my 26th birthday, and I’m officially on the downhill side to 30. This past year has been quite a whirlwind. For my 25th, we had been in Georgia for 3 months and were already waiting on a new set of orders. At 26, we’re still waiting on orders. Birthdays during deployment are inherently less fun, but here’s hoping to the adventure of moving (for the 3rd time in… View Post »
30 by 30 update
Since it’s my birthday eve, I suppose I should check in with my 30 before 30 project. 1. Read the Bible completely. Every single verse, every single book. I’ve been using my read every day Bible. I’ve gotten behind a few times, but I’m on track to finish it this year. 2. Save $5,000 a year each year. Done for this year. 3. Complete my Masters degree. 4. Pay off… View Post »
