Yesterday’s clues are here! Clue 4: This state has a body of water named after it, but people don’t think of this state with that body of water (when you find out the answer, this clue will make a lot more sense). Clue 5: Our last name and this state have a first letter in common. Clue 6: The mountains (not the desert) are calling. Check Facebook and Instagram later today… View Post »
September care package – 100 day countdown
A few weeks ago, I had a moment of grand inspiration for a care package. My idea was to create a 100 day countdown for the last 100 days of Mac’s deployment. It took me a bit longer than I planned to finish, but I hope Mac loves it. What you’ll need: 100 cards or photos 100 envelopes 1 small photo box 1 ticket stamp 1 stamp pad 100 calorie… View Post »

I was having trouble sleeping, getting restful sleep, and waking up in a timely fashion to do anything productive besides… View Post »
Apple picking at Carter Mountain Orchard
Yesterday, we made the most of a gorgeous fall day and headed down to Charlottesville (aka enemy territory) to go apple picking. We decided to check out Carter Mountain Orchard. Fun fact: the Page family (of which I am a member) closely intermarried with the Carters. This farm actually borders the land owned by Monticello and sits on the same mountain as Michie Tavern. It’s a high point in Charlottesville… View Post »
