We headed down to Blacksburg for another game this weekend. My plan wasn’t to not blog all weekend, but that just happened. I was feeling rather uninspired and couldn’t think of any good post ideas to schedule. We arrived in town around dinner and headed over to the Social House, a new, more upscale restaurant on Main Street. The food is American-Asian fusion, and it was quite good. We rallied and headed over to Sharkey’s for a few drinks.
Saturday dawned early for our noon kickoff. We tailgated a bit and went in to the game. Kate from A Thought and a Half joined us. Have I mentioned that I love meeting blogging friends in real life? One of our friends couldn’t make the game, so he gave us his 20 yard line seats. The game was good, if stressful, until the last two minutes. To add injury to insult, my right arm (and only my right arm) got sunburned. We tailgated some more after the game, got cleaned up, and went back downtown for dinner at PKs. We got another few rounds at Sharkey’s then headed over to Tots. Tots’ signature drink is called a rail. It’s basically six shots in one drink, and we decided to get two. The 26+ crowd then thought it was a good idea to stay out til last call. In retrospect, a poor choice.
We woke up Sunday morning way too early and got Carol Lee’s Donuts, aka the most amazing donuts in the world. We got lunch at Cabo Fish Taco then packed up and drove home. Sadly, the Broncos also decided to stage a comeback then lose in overtime. Bad football weekend.

Sounds like a big FUN weekend even though that games weren’t wonderful. I miss being close to our alma mater (Texas A&M). Football, tailgating, and bar hopping – what more is fall about? ๐
