Virginia Tech wedding invitation inspiration

The majority of my wedding planning searches involved the words “maroon and orange.” I was on the hunt for a Virginia Tech wedding invitation. A month or two after our engagement, I came across these beauties. Even though I loved the colors against the brown background, I didn’t love the price. It seemed a bit steep for my current pocketbook. I saved the link and kept searching for the perfect, budget-friendly Virginia Tech wedding invitation.

Some more intense searching on the Invitation Consultants site led me to these. These were much more budget-friendly at almost a dollar cheaper per invitation than Persian Sunset. I loved the orange detailing and the damask-esque pattern. I also noticed that spice color (shown below) was similar to Virginia Tech’s burnt orange and burgundy was close to our Chicago maroon.

A bit more investigating found that I could do a custom color combination. The wheels in my head started turning. After scrolling through their wording templates, I found the lyrics for “All I Ask of You” from “The Phantom of the Opera.” I played around with the color combinations to find what I liked best.

Invitation Consultants had emailed me a hefty discount code, so I wanted to take advantage of that deal. After a Skype update with Mac, we decided to order a customized invitation with the design details in spice and the text in burgundy. I placed an order for our invitations that weekend.
