Happy 2021, friends! We made it a new year and the fresh start it brings. Who wants to make a joke about hindsight being 2020?
- I can’t say that 2020 panned out exactly how I planned. Things changed in ways that none of any of us could have ever expected. We found out we were moving to Texas. Mac pinned on Major. I guess our previous 6 moves in 9 years seemed too easy, so we leveled up by moving cross-country in the middle of a pandemic. Trips before we moved and after we moved were cancelled. The Braves won multiple playoff series. But the shift to remote life allowed me to keep my job after we moved. It was a wacky, weird year.
- I took an inadvertent blogging break in December. The shorter days and the general lack of work / home separation dragged me down a bit. Also, we didn’t really do too much of anything between my November Life Lately and when I would have posted one for December. But I’m back, refreshed, and ready for new content.
- Speaking of back, it feels like I’m hitting the ground running this January. I have a handful of projects and other things I’m working on outside of my job. Some are fun-ish (whoo, genealogy organizations. Less whoo, trying to find vital records from a state that didn’t require them until 1910. Thanks, Missouri.). I may actually need a planner to keep track of everything I’m working on. Let’s be real, though. That planner will only last a few weeks until I forget to keep it updated.
How has your year started? Any big plans or goals?

Yes, a planner makes everything better – give it another chance. I couldn’t function without mine. Daily to do lists, birthdays, important info, appointments, etc. I love my planner.
