2018 Amazon Prime Day deals
Most days, I feel like the only blogger who doesn’t shop at Nordstrom. I honestly can’t tell you the last time I set foot in one because we never live near them, so I’m not shopping the N-sale. But Amazon is my jam. Considering I joined Amazon in 2001, you think I would’ve hopped on the Prime bandwagon earlier. I only bought a Prime membership when I got the student discount during grad school. But I’m now hooked to the free 2-ish day shipping, and I’m excited to see what Amazon Prime day deals I come across this year. Here are some of the deals I’m looking for this year and some products I recommend y’all should check out.

Technology
If you don’t already have an Amazon Firestick, buy one immediately. I didn’t think we’d use it at all, and I have been completely wrong. We use it at least 5 days a week and have it synced with our premium cable channels, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I also love the Sleepwell Channel (especially the Nighttime Lake option) for some peaceful white noise to help me sleep. Seriously. Buy one now.
We’re also on the hunt for a cloud storage drive. I want to upgrade my external hard drive, and Mac suggested a cloud-based system. I haven’t seen the one we picked out on any preview pages, but fingers crossed that it goes on sale today.
Kitchen
I’ve only recently expanded my Amazon purchases beyond books. It sounds funny, but it’s true. I shared on my Instagram stories earlier in the summer, but I bought a cheese making kit. Fresh mozzarella is so delicious, and this is also a great science experiment if you have kids (it’s surprisingly easy).
I got back on the meal planning bandwagon this year, and I found the most perfect meal planning notepad. Your meals go on one side, and your grocery list is on the other. It’s also over 60 sheets, so it’ll last you more than a year. I’m honestly considering buying a handful in case they ever discontinue them.
We invested in a few new cast iron pieces from The Lodge as our sixth, iron anniversary present. The Culinary Fanatic (who collects and restores cast iron) recommended this Crisbee stick to use as seasoning / conditioning for cast iron. I picked it up to try on our old and new pieces.
Blog stuff
After the launch of my new blog, I decided to go through and revamp all of my old content (yes, all 1300 posts). One area in desperate need of help is my food photography. I requested this light box kit as a gift (I had it on my wishlist) to compensate for a general lack of good natural lighting anywhere I live. I also want to snag this camera backpack that has a bit more structure for camera equipment than my normal drawstring backpack.
I jumped on the bullet journal train for about two weeks and bought this Leuchhtturm 1917 notebook. It has become my blogging notebook, and I love the quality of it. This brand has tons of amazing reviews on basically all of their products, so they’re worth checking out.
Books in my cart
You knew I couldn’t get through this post without some books. Caught up in the Hamilton craze? There’s a biography on Eliza Hamilton finally coming out on my birthday. As I do a lot, I’m going to buy this book on the Gunpowder Plot after watching the miniseries Gunpowder. My sister-in-law’s sister illustrated this adorable children’s book that has a squirrel on the cover, and I’m going to buy a copy for my sister and her baby.
