We have made it to Georgia! After 18 days on the road, we are checked into a hotel in Augusta for a few days before we sign for our house on Fort Gordon. We’ve had a good time visiting friends and family across the country and are excited to start out next Army adventure in Augusta. As we have exactly nothing to do at the moment, we’re occupying our time with important tasks like visiting Southern restaurant chains we didn’t have in Colorado, sending pictures of those meals (and our old exit at Fayetteville / Fort Bragg) to my brother-in-law, and driving past what will be our house. Our household goods are scheduled for delivery on June 22 (hold me), so we’ll be in a furniture-less house for two more weeks. Any tips or suggestions on how to deal with this?

I totally missed that you were leaving for Georgia already! How exciting! Wow 2 weeks with no furniture is rough! I don’t know what I would do. I would be tempted to buy some cheap stuff, but that’s a waste of money, even if it’s cheap, if you’re just going to throw it out after. Maybe Goodwill would be cheap enough for a couple chairs and a table to make it worth it? Good luck! Can’t wait to see the new house!

Wooooo!!! My bestest friend is there now too! Do y’all have an air mattress? That and some cheap folding chairs (I can’t remember what they’re actually called) are our basics. Oh, And did you bring a crockpot?!
