A farewell to Downton Abbey

Better late than never, right?

Last week, we said good-bye to the Crawleys, and the doors of Downton Abbey closed for the last time. I have to say I was devastated. I jumped on the Downton bandwagon a bit late, but I fell in love instantly. The scripts, the costumes, the sumptuous extravagance of a period drama: it had all the elements for a fantastic show.

I was concerned with how Julian Fellowes was going to wrap up a show six seasons in, and I was beyond paranoid he was going to kill someone off (the ulcer scene with Robert? I looked up spoilers just to see if he made it). The show had a level of closure and peace with each story line that most shows only dream of (and very rarely care to make happen). A few were predictable, but all-in-all, I really enjoyed how our time in the lives of Downton Abbey was brought to an end.

Did you watch the Downton series finale? What did you think?
