It seems like a lot longer, but we’ve been homeowners for a whole month! We left Virginia on Monday and got here Wednesday night. Since then, we’ve replaced the dishwasher, shopped at about 10 different stores, and slept in our bed for the first time in over a year. I think all we have left is to unpack the office and to organize the kitchen.
On one hand, I feel like we’ve accomplished a lot unpacking and settling in-wise, but on the other hand, I feel like we still have so much to do. Luckily, Mac is on leave for the next month (thank you, Lord), and we will have plenty of time to sit on the couch watching a documentary on Caligula instead of doing anything related to the house (in our defense, it was really interesting). Sadly, Mac turned off the special on the bubonic plague.

It must be so nice to have your hubby home and on leave! Having moved TWICE last year, I can say that there’s always so much to do. But a bit at a time is the trick. When you get a boost of energy, just go! I find when I plan, it doesn’t work and I get discouraged.

Welcome to home ownership–the constant feeling of accomplishment, but also a LONG to-do list! haha. My husband and I have been in our house for just over 6 months now, and we’ve done a TON but there’s always more to do. Just enjoy the process as you go and it’ll be fun ๐
