When we came home at the beginning of the year, we realized that we have a lot of crap. I mean, a lot. Looking around, I see piles of stuff that we just don’t need. A lot of fellow bloggers have posted about reducing, and I’m jumping on the bandwagon. I’m setting a goal to get rid of 365 things in the year 2016. Interested in joining? Use the hashtag #simplify365 on social media to share how you’re reducing this year!
A few ground rules:
- Donated items and trash can all count towards this goal.
- Normal trash doesn’t count. Any purging beyond that can.
- Items in a set count as one (like a set of three cookie sheets).
- Consider donating anything that isn’t trash! Lots of local charities can use your old stuff.
Hope you join in!

What a great idea!! I will try this once we move in March/April… we are doing a DITY, so my husband wants all the weight we can get, hahaha!

I got rid of some much at the end of last year, but I can definitely afford to part with some more!

I’ve been doing the same! I like your rules and the fact that your trash can items count towards your goal. It feels so good to bag up stuff and drop it off as a donation. Plus, I’m hoping getting rid of stuff will make our next in town move even easier!

I think that this is a great thing to do! I actually just did something similar to this but it was with #unclutteryournest run by another blogger. I managed to donate/throw away 791 pounds of things from my apartment. The crazy thing? I already did a ton of purging MONTHS ago when I moved across the country. I just had way too much stuff.
