The weather this weekend was perfect, so I dragged Mac out of the house for an adventure. We love big cat rescues and found one east of town in Calhan called Serenity Springs Wildlife Center. They have around 120 animals (mostly big cats) and do several tours on the weekend. Calhan is at least a 40 minute drive from Colorado Springs (depending on where you live in town). It’s also home to the famous Paint Mines.
We got there about 10 minutes before the 11 am tour, and it was already getting crowded. The tour is $10 a person and lasts around an hour. It’s the standard big cat rescue tour, but Serenity Springs is unique to us because a lot of the animals are famous. Y’all, the RING BEAR from Robin and Barney’s wedding in How I Met Your Mother lives here. They had several baby bear cubs who were born at the facility, so we stood in line to take a picture with one. It’s a fun place to check out, and visiting helps support the animals who live there.
Have you visited Serenity Springs Wildlife Center?

You got to meet the Ring Bear?!?! Luckkyyy. I actually looked at my TimeHop this morning and it’s the one year anniversary of the last HIMYM – crazy how time flies. This sanctuary looks fantastic, even though I would totally just want to try and cuddle all of the animals lol.
