Beautiful places, smiling faces

It’s been chilly here, alternating between cold rain and sunshine. Can’t complain about the rain because we’re on the verge of a drought again. But the winter doldrums have got me down, and I’ve taken to planning an anniversary vacation for us. Two of my 25for25 goals are to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and to travel somewhere new. And since Bragg to Gordon has to make the top 5 short PCS moves list, we really won’t be able to complete our standard cross-country roadtrip.

I’ve dreamed up a vacation for us road tripping between Savannah, Hilton Head Island, and Charleston. I actually have been to Savannah: an overnight stay coming home from the Florida Keys senior year spring break. The highlights: thinking a car backfiring was a genuine gunshot (we convinced ourselves that a gunfight would warrant the police being called), sleeping in between my two besties in a queen bed (cozy is putting it mildy), and eating at Paula Deen’s restaurant.

Take me baaaacccckkkkkk.

We’re still deciding if we want to go on vacation then move or move then go on vacation. Decisions, decisions. I think we’re going to rent two houses instead of hotel rooms. One house is $75 a night, and the other is $65, so it’s obviously much cheaper than $100+ a night.

First up, Savannah. Horse tours, ghost tours, and a freaking Paula Deen tour? Sold. Shut up and take my money. Ooooh, even wineries.
