A Liebster Award for me?

I was recently nominated for a Liebster Award by a dear reader, Stephanie at Share the Love. She has a great blog, so check her out! I’m extremely flattered because I kind of think that my blog sucks. And wonder why y’all read it. Thanks for sticking with me!

The Liebster award is given by bloggers to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

RULES:
1. Each person posts 11 things about themselves
2. Answer the questions the nominator made for you, and create 10 more questions for the blogs you nominate.
3. Choose nominations and link them to your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.

11 facts about me:

1. I was born in North Dakota. Yes, it’s still a real state. I went back for the first time in 2009 with Mac since moving away in 1990.

2. I suck at thinking of unique things about myself.

3. I have been to 47 of the 50 states. I am missing: Hawaii, Alaska, and Nevada. I might be planning a trip to Hawaii traveling via Las Vegas for next summer.

4. I learned to read when I was four years old. My older sister taught me as she was learning in school.

5. I am a very particular eater. I don’t eat seafood (I’ve tried it), I eat steaks at least medium well, and I would rather overcook than undercook my food. That being said, I eat raw batter and cookie dough.

6. I am an Air Force brat who married a Navy brat turned Army officer. Neither of us would be surprised if our children join the military.

7. Growing up, I wanted to attend the College of William and Mary so I could work as a historical interpreter in Colonial Williamsburg.

8. I think that Sasquatch (Bigfoot, Yeti, etc) could exist. As a scientist, I would like some sort of physical evidence. Keep in mind: Europeans didn’t see big apes (like the silverback gorillas) for hundreds of years even though native Africans told them they existed. And more of North America is classified as wilderness than in Africa. I might be watching “Finding Bigfoot” right now.

9. I decided I was going to attend medical school in the third grade. Shortly after my 18th birthday, I realized that I no longer wanted to become a doctor. And I haven’t figured out what I’m doing with my life since.

10. My cat’s name is Kittie. I was an extremely creative six year old. At one point in time, she had ten or twelve names. Yes, my cat is still alive. She is 17. Holy crap, my cat can vote next year.

11. On a school trip in sixth grade, the girls I was bunking with decided to give each other nicknames based on the first letter of our name. My nickname was Luscious Lisa. I can’t say I remember why.

10 Questions for the nominees:

1. What is your favorite drink (non-alcoholic)?
DR. PEPPER MAKES THE WORLD TASTE BETTER. I have an obsession with Dr. Pepper. The original 23 flavors, Diet Cherry, or Ten (it’s not just for men). It’s all good in this hood.

2. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Wherever I would be, I would want Mac with me. I feel like I should put some dramatic “ultimate travel location.” But I wouldn’t mind going back to the Caribbean, London, or living out west again.

3. What is the next book you would like to read?
Hmm, I have a stack of unread books. I think I’ll dive into my biographies on Mary and Jane Boleyn. Then maybe The Pioneer Woman’s High Heels to Tractor Wheels.

4. Do you have a favorite magazine?
Martha Stewart Living, Southern Living, Alpha Gamma Delta Quarterly

5. How many languages do you know?
Six: English, German, French, Latin, Greek, and Spanish. I am only fluent in English.

6. Your favorite thing to do?
Sleeping? I don’t know. Watching baseball and football, reading, cooking (then eating), and most importantly, hanging out with Mac.

7. Favorite movie of all time?
Clearly, Titanic. I now own six copies of it. One each of the original and special edition versions of VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray.

8. What would be/is your ideal job?
The team dietitian for the Denver Broncos or the Atlanta Braves. I’m debating trying to finish a didactic program to apply for a dietetic internship.

9. Do you want any kids? How many?
Four. A girl, twin boys, and another girl. Yes, they are already named. Mac wants two because we’re both from two-children families.

10. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging this March? I had grand aspirations of blogging for Weddingbee and becoming the next Pioneer Woman.

Jeymie at A Perfect Pebble. My little’s blog is almost as adorable as she is.

Manisha at Hokie, Esquire. If you’re into running, check her out.

Lindsay at Typically Late. A fellow Hokie and one of my sister’s sorority sisters.

1. Why did you start blogging?

8. How did you come up with your blog name?
