I’ve been blogging for about two and a half years now, and I like to think I know some things about it. I’ve blogged every day, twice a day, and forgotten to blog. I’ve planned posts, neglected to update those planned posts, and accidentally posted those un-updated posts. Every blogger has days where blogging feels like a chore. We also have days where ideas and inspiration are lacking, but we post something just to get some traffic. I’m very guilty of posting every day even if my post wasn’t the most interesting.
And I’ve now seen the benefits of taking time off. It started with a weekend out of town then snowballed from there. I found that I enjoyed not blogging on Saturday or Sunday. Writing on Sunday night or Monday morning became easier. I’m now treating my blog more like a job (a job I like, but still). I’m aiming to post 4-5 days a week, and I’m no longer afraid to not publish.
Do y’all plan time off from blogging? What’s your schedule?

I don’t think I’ve ever blogged on a Saturday, unless I had something I just really really wanted to share and couldn’t wait another day. It helps to give yourself a break and let your mind refresh!

My goal is a post a day, Monday-Friday. Doesn’t always happen of course.

I rarely blog on weekends and this is something that I have tried to stick to.

Oh gosh. I’m so bad about having a blogging schedule. .. I should really have one though. I can see how it would be beneficial to me and my blog. I tend to get ideas, then start writing but I get interrupted. I usually have 4-5 draft posts that I’m working on but it takes me a long time to finish them.

I have definitely taken blog breaks, way too many. I always come back refreshed and ready to blog, which is awesome. I try to post Mon-Fri and I always take the weekends off from mostly all social media, maybe once in awhile I’ll post on Instagram.

We all need to take breaks or else we will just burn out on it. I know exactly how you feel with posts sometimes hitting before ready, just not wanting to blog. I think that’s the beauty of blogging though is it’s ours and there is no right or wrong way.
