Lately, I’ve been researching ways to grow my blog. I’ve stayed away from doing giveaways (because I’m not willing to part with my monies) and guest posting on other blogs (because I can’t think of blog topics for my own blog, let alone someone else’s). One of the suggestions I see a lot is to post quality content. What exactly is quality content? To me, these posts should be about interesting topics that engage you as readers and make you comment or come back again to see what else I write. But, at the same time, I try to post every day to drive traffic to my blog. So how do you write good posts all the time?

I currently have 32 posts saved as drafts. Some aren’t finished (like recipes that need pictures), and some just aren’t quite ready. I also try to save some finished posts for the days where I have total writer’s block.
What do y’all consider quality content? Do you ever run out of things to blog about?

I guess I always just write what I want to write. I don’t really consider others, that probably sounds really bad. But my Blog also isn’t huge with tons of followers like some that have been around as long as mine. Just write for you!

I always consider quality content to be something that my readers relate to or can learn something from. š

i just love reading about personal experiences. I could read about fashion and things like that but it gets boring and old quick. I love reading about something that truly affected the blogger and how they dealt with it, or even everyday things. I helps me feel more sane š

I’m so expert by any means. But I’ve found it’s best to post content that you enjoy reading on others blogs. Hope this helps!

I don’t think I have any advice for quality content, per se, other than writing about things you actually CARE about – because if you’re not invested, it’s very easy to see (in my blog-reading experience). My other advice would be to not blog if you don’t have anything to say. I know it’s important to write consistently and constantly, but there’s almost nothing I hate more than a blogger who blogs every day but about stupid stuff or no real substance – it’s clearly just a post to have a post. You do you! š

When I can’t think of anything GOOD to write about, I just write about my day. I’ve found that I actually do ok even if I don’t post every day. Good photos help a bunch. Idk. Everyone says if you do it for yourself, the people will come..

That is amazing that you have that many saved! I wish I could say that!! I never know what to write about! I don’t know if any one would want to read what I have to say or not!!

Oh man, this is just such a hard question!!! 32 drafts is seriously awesome! I know it sounds silly, but I’ve actually found many of my best “friend” bloggers through award nominations (like Liebster) and swaps. Yes, it’s sort of still parting with your money, but at least you’re going to get a box of fun things back in return!! Not to plug my own, but I’m hosting a Valentine’s themed one right now if you want to check it out š

The posts I’m always proudest of are the ones where my “voice” comes through, and the ones that I feel like incorporate my real emotions and real life instead of just recycling other people’s ideas.

I don’t quite “get” guest post either. I know the thought is if you write a big guest post on a blog people will quick through and read your blog as well. But I know I never do that, so I can’t imagine someone would do the same for me.
I think there’s also the question of whether you want more followers or interactive followers. There are “easy” ways to get more followers, but the only way of increasing interactive followers is to consistently write things people want to comment about. I have found one easy way of increasing followers is to randomly enter ad space giveaways. Depending on the type you win it could surprise you what happens to your follow count, but I find that hard to convert to active followers which is what I’d really want.
