February is already coming in hot. Normally, January feels like it lasts about 18 weeks. This January didn’t exactly breeze by, but it did seem to go a bit quicker than most Januaries.
- January ended with a charming bout of food poisoning. It took me down hard, and I spent most of week slowly recovering my appetite. Add that to a gloomy, gray month, and I’ve had zero energy lately.
- We had a few weekends with winter storms where we were stuck in the house. Since then, we’ve been trying to get outside a bit. We found a new Black Bear Diner when we visited the Truman house in Independence. Last weekend, we checked out a great exhibit on Nefertari and the queens of Egypt at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. And I’m mapping out trips to knock out the Kansas and Missouri National Park Service sites.
- I’ve been working to grow my blog over the past year or so. A lot of what I’ve been doing has been on old posts, so you may not have noticed things like remaking recipes, reshooting photos, and lots of SEO and Pinterest. I also had my first post accepted to FoodGawker! Hopefully, I can keep the trend going.
- February should also bring news about our next home. Wait, didn’t y’all just move? Yes, yes, we did. About this time last year is when we found out Mac made the promotion list to major and that we would be moving to Kansas. Mac submitted his job list back in the fall. The Army HR office is starting to process orders. We’re hoping to get official word that Mac gets the job he wants. And it’s about time to start the pre-move purge.
- Have you missed my Oreo updates? My love of Oreos is well known, and one of my co-workers grabbed me these Most Stuf Oreos. They are the perfect ratio of cookie to creme. Of course, I’m on the prowl for the newest Oreo flavors. The chocolate marshmallow looks delightful, and I’ll report back when I find them.
What have y’all been up to?
