The Mona Lisa

We had a limited amount of time in the Louvre. Because of this, we prioritized seeing the Mona Lisa. Plenty of people had warned me that it’s not that big and you can’t get that close to it, but I felt compelled to see Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece. Honestly, I thought the warnings were misplaced. Yes, it is behind glass. Yes, a ton of people want to see it. But you can get the whole way up to the rope for a great view. Also, it’s not that small. I was expecting something the size of a piece of paper. It’s about 30 by 20 inches. We did wander through a few other wings and viewed some other pieces that I included below. I personally enjoyed seeing a few portraits of several Tudor monarchs in the European wing.
