As an Army wife, it’s pretty hard to plan for the future. I think most of us have vague plans for what we want, but the Army does what the Army wants. So thinking about our lives in five years is difficult.
But we do know some things.
– I should have my Masters degree.
– I hope to be employed full-time.
– Mac will have decided if he’s staying in the Army as a career.
– We probably will move again.
– We may have children.
– I will be in my 30s.
Where will y’all be in five years?

Sounds like a good plan. I know it can be hard to make long term plans when so much is still up in the air. It’ll be fun to see how these things work out for you. In 5 years, I’d love to be in a home we plan to live in for many years, be involved and established in a church, have made good friends in our new city and start thinking about returning to teaching.

What are you going to study for your masters degree?

Well, we have another two years hear, plus a year of ROTC/SGL, then a year of ILE. I honestly plan to hopefully be in Colorado or Washington. All the kids will be in school. Working from home would be nice.

Great plans. I hope that we will be settled into our own house. Maybe another kid. George will be gearing up for Kindergarten…WTH. I really love my job, but I will probably have either moved up because of advancement needs or looked for another job at Mizzou. But who knows, maybe the job will evolve with me, and I will stay put!
