Y’all, I am a suburbanite. Give me manicured lawns, perfectly spaced houses, and all that jazz any day. Northern Virginia is kind of my nightmare. Traffic everywhere, people everywhere, buildings everywhere. I’m not going to do anything crazy like overcorrect and move back to Greensburg, but I definitely appreciate suburban America. Mac and I have been together over five years and have yet to have a place we truly considered our first home. But we have lots of ideas about our dream home.
Yes, this will do nicely. |
Most importantly, we’ll be building a colossal log cabin. We’re still torn between Blacksburg or someplace out west. The mountain view would be nice. And why wouldn’t we want a giant bear over the door?
Of course, an epic front door must accompany the giant bear.
It’ll be filled with lots of bear and moose tchotchkes and rustic Western décor. Stuff that really reflects our personal style.
Have y’all planned your dream homes? What style would you build?

I want beach house. A modern house right on the water.

I’m completely loving this decor! If I had my way, our dream home would be completely rustic with tons of Western Texas/cowboy influences!!

I miss suburbia! Honestly, my dream house would be pretty much like the one we own, but bigger and more upgraded… Granite countertops and all those cool things from HGTV (which John is STILL watching). I do really like your bear!

We would love to live out in the country and have a Anne of Green Gables type of thing going on with the land and the works. We also want to own a lake house that would be more of a log cabin type of situation.
