Kids, this is the story
Of “How I Met Your Mother.” Subtitled “How Carter Bays and Craig Thomas stabbed me in the heart after nine loyal seasons.”
Last night was the series finale of one of my favorite shows. I started watching HIMYM in 2010 when Mac and I moved in together. While he was deployed the first time, I caught up on all of the past seasons and haven’t missed an episode since. It ranks up there with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. at the top on the scale of my favorite shows. I love the jokes, the plot lines that wove through seasons of the show, and the unconditional love between friends. I admired Ted’s unswerving hope that he would find the one, I saw strangely accurate parallels between Marshall and Lily and Mac and me. I laughed with the gang, and I cried with them. I yearned for the moment when Ted would see THE MOTHER. And now I want to go to New York to punch the writers in the face. I was definitely disappointed in the show’s ending. No spoilers here, but the finale was horribly predictable, and I was not pleased. I wish that the writers had gone with the ending we wanted, not the ending we knew would happen.
Who else watched HIMYM? Did you like the ending?
