Life lately – August 2018
I started this post last week and came up with a big ole case of writer’s block. It’s funny how updating everyone with what you’ve been doing causes you to forget everything you’ve been doing.
1. July was surprisingly busy month at work. One of my coworkers took a bunch of time off, and one of my coworkers was really sick. We also had the most foot traffic in the eleven months our office has been open. Our boss changed up our work schedule for this month, so I’ve been in our testing center several days a week.
2. We have three more weekends of our summer / until football starts. In July, we did make it to a Braves game and to Blacksburg for a quick house-hunting trip. I don’t think we’re doing anything tomorrow as Mac has a dining in tonight. In the next few weeks, I would love to do some hiking up in North Georgia. I also want to go to a few stores in Columbia, South Carolina, that we don’t have in Augusta. And we haven’t been to the beach at all this summer.
3. Every day in our ten-day forecast has a high in the 90s, but I’m slowly thinking fall. Bath & Body Works had a good sale over the weekend, so I restocked Mac’s pumpkin soaps. Fun fact: Mac loves pumpkin soap (and generally anything with pumpkin). We’re also in that season between the Fourth of July and fall when I don’t quite know how to decorate. I may still have Fourth of July decorations up around my house because I don’t have anything for the late summer season.
4. Work on the blog continues. I knew that reviewing, editing, and generally overhauling six years’ of blog content (some 1,300 posts) was going to take a while. I really, really, really underestimated just how much time this was going to take. At some point, I’ll share the who, what, when, where, why, and how bit in case y’all are interested in doing the same.
5. I turn 30 in about five weeks. It’s time to cross those last 30 by 30 goals off the list. A few of those goals are going to be big, fat fails, but I’m trying to accomplish as many as I can before the big day. It’s hard to believe that I started that list four and a half years ago already.
What’s new with y’all?
