Happy New Year from me to you, dear readers! I hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled end to 2013. After a trip to the Hokie bar Wilson Tavern to watch our Hokies lose (why can’t we win bowl games in a row?), we headed over to the hotel. My BFF and I caught up while Mac napped, and we decided that next year will be spent in a more low key venue, hopefully one with booze where yoga pants are apropos. The hotel beds were just a bit too comfy to drag ourselves out of to walk to a party in the wintry wind, so we called a cab and managed to make it in time for the ball to drop.
We went out to a party in Clarendon and thoroughly enjoyed people watching (and judging) while sipping drinks. Memo to all single twenty-something ladies: if you think you might get drunk, don’t wear 5 inch platform stilettos or a skin-tight mini or strapless anything. We saw a lot of gals teetering on the verge on indecent exposure. We spent the morning recovering (more from not enough sleep than from too much booze) and discovered another delightful brunch spot.
How was your New Years Eve? Anyone else want to stay in?

Ours was good! We went to a friend’s house & basically just lounged until midnight. I wish I was wearing yoga pants.. It totally would have been appropriate. I was ready for bed by 9. Next year, we might just stay in. I don’t mind missing the ball drop and just waking up in the new year.
