Ever notice how people these days are glued to their technology? Maybe it’s the woman checking a text while out on a date. Maybe it’s the kid plastered to an iPad sitting next to their parents in a waiting room. Do we ever take time to unplug?
Case in point: at a New Years Eve party on freaking Bourbon Street. They’re playing on their phones. |
Mac and I have made a conscious effort to live technology free at times. When we’re out to eat, we don’t play with our phones. But if his phone rings, he’ll check it because the Army doesn’t care if we’re having date night (how many SIR phone calls have interrupted a night out? Too many).
We also stash the gadgets while eating dinner at home and try to eat at the kitchen table. It’s nothing much, but enjoying a quiet meal without the TV blaring or a phone menacingly sitting next to a plate is a nice way to spend time with my husband.
What do y’all do to unplug?

This is great although the only time we unplug is when our phones die. We’re technology obsessed!

We always have our phones put away for dinner at home and dinner out. It’s a respect thing for each other to not have them out.

We have started putting the phones away at dinner time-it’s a nice way to show we really care about what we are saying 🙂

You totally stole this from my brain!! I’m trying to work on it more in every day life since we’re already pretty good with dinner time.
