No apartment post today. I’m doing laundry and haven’t cleaned the two remaining rooms enough to post them on the Interwebs. But enjoy a hopefully helpful post about Gmail!
Y’all might have noticed that Gmail launched a new format in the past few weeks. They now sort emails in three tabs at the top of your screen: inbox, social, and promotion. Presumably, they have some sort of algorithm that sorts emails based on the sender and content. However, I noticed that a lot of my emails (both blog and personal) were disappearing without me knowing why.
If you would like to get rid of the tabs and go back to one inbox window, click on the Account Settings gear wheel. Then select “Configure Inbox.”
You’ll see this window. Select or deselect any tabs you want in your email account. Click save.
If you just want an inbox, your screen will look like this.
After a few seconds, your inbox should refresh itself and have your emails sorted accordingly!

Came over from the Weekly Wednesday blog hop. So glad you posted this – I hate the new gmail inbox. It seems to randomly assign things to different folders. Changing it now!
ps – love your blog. Now following via GFC š

It doesn’t seem I got that update – but I’ll be glad for this post if/when it happens!

I haven’t had any problems with mine. In fact, I like it because I get a lot of junk mail that annoys me and I like that it gets filtered and organized.

HECK YES, finally I know how to change it. I was wondering if there was a way to change it back. The new tabs are horrible.

Hmm.. I can’t see it yet, but I’m sure it’ll sneak up on me eventually..
