25for25 – March

Happy half-birthday to me!

In honor of my 25th birthday this year (umm, what?), I’ve decided against traditional new year’s resolutions and am hopping on the 25 for 25 bandwagon. Basically, 25 goals I want to accomplish by my 25th birthday on September 18.

1. Be a better Christian: attend church regularly, finish The Purpose Driven Life, read the Bible.
I’m been doing okay on church, and I’ve actually been praying a lot more. Just offering up thanks for the blessings in my life 🙂

2. Lose 25 pounds and keep it off.
Started the Couch to 5K program. True story: I can barely run 90 seconds without stopping. That’s a minute and a half. I played soccer and lacrosse once upon a time.

3. Read 25 new books (I’ll give myself until the end of the year for this one).
On book #10 which is an almost 600 page behemoth on the Tudors.

4. Move at least once (possibly twice!).
Dear orders office, you suck. Love, Lisa and Mac.

5. Visit somewhere I’ve never been before.
Savannah and Charleston for vacation!

6. Start graduate school. Virginia Tech has made this attempt quite dramatic already.
Currently enrolled in two classes.

7. Organize our house and get us in better shape to move.
I have a few posts in queue already, but I’m about to post a full reveal of our newly redecorated house. We’ve made good progress in getting rid of random shite.

8. Grow my blog to a point where it can make me some monies.
Made good progress thus far. Check out my two most recent posts for more info.

9. Celebrate our first wedding anniversary on June 9.

10. Figure out our budget, stick to it, and pay off some of my loans.
Our budget got shot to all hell this month: we paid $3000 in car repairs and $4000 in tuition. Now accepting donations.

11. Complete an organized run (at least a 5K).

12. Work out 3 days a week.

13. Cook a new recipe at least once a week.
I have a terrible habit of not photographing my new recipes. Or not cleaning my kitchen which I then don’t want photographed.

14. Try out all of the kitchen gadgets we received as wedding gifts. A good many of them are still in their boxes in our garage. Whoops.
We actually successfully made fresh pasta a few weeks back. Neither the pasta machine nor the ravioli press were wedding presents.

15. Watch our Hokies play.
Frank Beamer doing the Harlem Shake will tide me over until August 31.

16. Hike part of the Appalachian Trail.

17. Design a Hokie room in our next house.
Check out the house reveal for my Hokie craft room / home office.

18. Actually finish a blog project I start for myself.
3 / 3 on this bad boy. Now to pick up with my other projects.

19. Learn how to properly apply eyeliner.
From my excessive watching of “What Not to Wear,” I have determined that I do, in fact, apply eyeliner properly; I just don’t wear very dark eyeliner (because I’m super pale and don’t want to be confused with a goth). Very scientific, I know.

20. Do some pins from Pinterest.
Our fresh pasta recipe was from Pinterest!

21. Host link-up parties on my blog.
Meal-planning Monday! You lucky kids get two posts today!

22. Be pen pals with my college friends.

23. Make new friends.

24. Keep the house and garage clean.

25. Enjoy turning 25!
