Do me a solid and hit play.
Notre Dame is one of those quintessential Europe spots that needs no introduction. It might be a bit tourist-heavy, but I really think it’s worth the visit. The detail is exquisite, and the sheer scale of the cathedral is incredible. In his infinite wisdom, our tour guide from hell gave us about thirty minutes to tour Notre Dame, only one of the most famous churches in the Christian world. The lines to get in are long but move pretty quickly. I would recommend taking a lap around the entire perimeter to view the exquisite stained glass panels in every window (these are coming in a separate post). From there, you can explore the many chapels and the sanctuary. I would also suggest you sit in the middle of the sanctuary for a few minutes to soak it all in. I love visiting churches, and this one was lived up to the hype.
