Y’all. I turn 30 this month. When did that happen?
- We took a quick trip down to Tallahassee for the Virginia Tech – Florida State game. We left on Sunday and visited some of the Georgia National Park Service properties on the drive down. Most importantly, we stopped at the only Whataburger in the state of Georgia. The game was at 8 pm on Monday (why, ESPN?), and we tailgated with one of my friends from college, his parents, and girlfriend. We got back in the car around midnight, made it home a little bit after 5 am, and then went to work.
- My family is in the middle of a baby boom. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law welcomed their first son last year, my sister is expecting a baby girl in the fall, and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law have another baby boy on the way in 2019. I’m throwing my sister a fall-themed baby shower, so I need to jump on the planning wagon real quick and get that going. Any suggestions for a fall baby shower?
- Georgia, we need to have a serious talk about this weather. I misguidedly thought that the forecast over Labor Day weekend would be our last few days in the 90s. It looks like September is on track to be a hotter month than August so far.
- I’m obviously a big fan of September and fall, so I may have started decorating for fall a week or so ago even though fall is clearly weeks ago here. To be fair, most of my fall decor is intentionally maroon and orange, so I use Virginia Tech’s schedule as an excuse to put stuff up.
What’s going on with y’all? Any exciting weekend plans?

A Fall baby shower sounds like fun! Baby pumpkins, pumpkin patch, caramel apple favors, pumpkin bread or mini muffins, s’mores or caramel apple dip.
