This morning, I ran my very first 5K. I signed up for Run or Dye months ago to accomplish one of my 25for25 goals. The course started over at James Brown Arena near Downtown Augusta, cut across Broad Street (the main downtown drag), and looped around back to James Brown. Overall, the course was flat. On some roads, only one lane was sectioned off, so it kind of made running difficult. Mac stayed with me (as opposed to being able to lap me), and we alternated jogging and walking once the other runners spread out. Aside from a few sore muscles, I had a good experience. I’m definitely going to follow the Couch to 5K program more strictly for the next race I run.
How did y’all feel after your first race?

Looks like you had fun! I’ve always wanted to run a race like this!

Good for you! My first race was a mud run back in April and I felt amazing afterwards. š

Yay! Congrats! My first 5k was during a snowstorm. IN TENNESSEE WTF. It doesn’t even snow there on a regular basis, but the day I choose to run in front of other people, the weather went all crazy on me. It was fun, I was totally sweating by the time it was over, and I couldn’t talk for like, 20 minutes after we finished because I was that out of breath. I’m trying to get back into running again. That C25K works, but damn it takes some time to get through. (aka I am super lazy these days.)
