Life Lately – May 2023
Hello, friends! I haven’t posted in a while, so it’s good to be back here and sharing with you.
- It’s hard to believe that we’re already in May. We had our final weekend of class in Williamsburg, and it was fun to see every one again. The end of the semester is under two weeks away, which is crazy. From here on out in my program, my focus will be my dissertation. I wound up changing my dissertation topic, so I have started over on that process. Now to motivate myself to actually write…
- Spring has sprung, and it has been beautiful. We popped into DC and took a stroll around the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms at the start of peak bloom, and we also explored the National Arboretum. The previous owners of our house planted a bunch of flowers, so it’s been fun to see those pop up and bloom. I am ready for a bit warmer weather and to not have the heater on.
- After years of being a displaced sports fan, Mac is loving being so close to his hometown teams. We went to two more Capitals games before their season ended, including the game where Ovechkin was honored for scoring 802 career goals. And baseball season has finally started. The Braves opened the season here in DC, so we went to two games over Opening Weekend.
- I have some more catching up to do on my new flavor recaps. First up is a cookie dough Milky Way. The nougat is a cookie dough flavor. While it wasn’t bad, it didn’t taste too different from your standard Milky Way. Next, I grabbed a bag of these Sweet and Spicy BBQ Doritos. They are pretty similar to the Nacho Cheese flavor, but you can taste the added smoky barbecue flavor. Definitely a solid option.
What have y’all been up to?
