Happy June, friends! Yes, it’s the middle of the month. Yes, I haven’t blogged regularly in about two months.
- Mac drove out here last Sunday to surprise me on our wedding anniversary. He originally told me he planned to sign out of Fort Gordon on June 10, so I was expecting him Monday. I had him add my hotel rewards account to his 10-day stay in Augusta, so I did notice that his hotel reservation ended on the ninth. We were able to meet up in Kentucky (about half way between Kansas and Georgia) over Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to see each other after about five weeks, and I’m glad that we’re back together in the same state. Though military life is looking at a seven week separation and saying that it’s not that bad.
- I think I’m going to officially declare our 2019 move done! My mom came to Kansas for about a week and made a dent in the unpacking, so that really helped. Moving while working full-time is a new experience for me, so I didn’t immediately unpack everything like I normally do. We also aren’t 100% unpacked because we decided to rearrange and reorganize first. Our office is always a problem area, so we’re going to invest in more storage bins before taking everything out of boxes to put it back in bins. We also have to figure out how to deal with not having a pantry or more than one hall closet.
- Weekend adventure #1 in Kansas is in the books. We went up to Omaha overnight for the College World Series. While it wasn’t a full-on, must-visit bucket list experience for me, I’ve always wanted to go. We saw some sites, ate great food, and really enjoyed the game. And I got to be about 10 feet away from Tom Glavine, so that was pretty cool.
- Speaking of weekend adventures, I need to write about five or so blog posts from our last few trips in Georgia. I didn’t have my external hard drive, so I didn’t have all of my photos. I’m also already planning what we want to do while we live in Kansas. Any good recommendations for weekend trips here?
- I finally got my work ID after about two months, so I’m official and can get into the mail room. My position is new, so a lot of what I do is figuring out what my job will actually do. It’s challenging and rewarding, and I’m enjoying the work.
What’s new with y’all?

We were also in Omaha this weekend, although we had no idea it was the College World Series!

How fun going to Omaha and watching the CWS in person! I would love to do that. The new things with me? I am officially the mom of a freshman, I am blogging more, and I am looking for other mil-spouses to connect with. I miss the connection from my first blog Air Force. Wife. Life and I hope to find that again. I look forward to reading more blogs from you.
