A better love story than Twilight.
I finally got around to cleaning my make-up brushes. It had been, shall we say, a while, so I cleaned and set them on the edge of the sink to dry. I go to bed and hear a suspicious thunk noise in the bathroom (with two cats, we don’t tend to investigate thunks anymore). Bagel Bites wanders out of the bathroom with something in his mouth. I can’t make out what’s in his mouth, so my first thought is that he managed to dig something out of the trash. Yuckyuckyuckyuck. Once I turn on the lights, I see him spooning and grooming a $20 make-up brush. The one that was freshly cleaned and on the bathroom sink. Cool.
I managed to pry the no-longer-freshly cleaned brush away from him and cleaned it again. After another attempt to steal the brush, he was banished from the bathroom. I thought that was over, but I was so wrong. Bagel Bites discovered that I keep my makeup brushes in the unzipped pocket of a cosmetics bag in the bathroom cabinet. He also discovered that he can open cabinet doors and retrieve those makeup brushes.
I found the various brushes around the house for a few days. We settled into bed one night and were basically asleep when we heard a large crash and a cat crying. I jumped out of bed and raced to find the cats. I had to chase Bagel Bites downstairs and found him with the makeup case looped around his neck. He was trying to dig out one of the brushes by climbing through the bag handle. Somehow, he spooked and bolted out of the bathroom tangled up in the case. All of my makeup was on the stairs. I extracted him from the makeup case, gave him some snuggles, and cleaned everything up. Now, I zip my makeup case.
Do your pets love anything that aren’t toys?

Crazy cat!! My cats love running water from the sinks, pens, Christmas tree water, house plants and rubber bands.

Bagel Bites also loves to chew on plants, real or fake. We’ve stopped buying flowers because of it.
