Mac started a new job in a new unit last month. Much to our surprise, the new unit already had a ball on the calendar two weeks after he showed up, and I realized that I’ve been wearing my current ball gown since 2012. I didn’t have enough time to find a new dress (slash I wasn’t looking that seriously) before the ball, but seeing another wife in the same dress inspired me to find a new one.
I fell in love with this dress during one of my online window shopping trips. It’s $300 and a bit more than I wanted to pay. Also, my mom pointed out that my bridesmaid dress from my sister’s wedding is also long and navy.
Another guest at my sorority sister’s wedding last month wore a dress very similar to this. I love the two-piece look, so I’ve had my eye on those at each store. I stopped by the mall to browse and tried on this Lauren Ralph Lauren confection. The belt wraps around and creates a lovely V-shape in the back. It was also $300 and had some damage, so I passed.
I went to David’s Bridal to find a dress for my brother-in-law’s wedding reception (a short, navy bridesmaid dress). I saw this beauty when I was browsing and had to try it on. It is so gorgeous that I was willing to pay full price for it. I’m taking to my sorority convention to wear for the formal event.

They’re all beautiful!! It’s fun that you have so many occasions to wear formal dresses to 🙂 My formals from weddings are all gathering dust in my closet.

Love all three of these… the first one is my favorite, personally, but I wouldn’t pay $300 either!

They are all great! If I had $300, I would buy that first one even though I have no where to wear it to.
