As I’m looking at new computers, I find myself wading into the eternal turf war of electronics: Apple vs. Microsoft / everyone else. I’ve used PCs most of my life, and the majority of my Apple experience was at the private middle school I attended in Alabama. The campus was an early 2000s shrine to Apple (who remembers iMacs and iBooks?), so that’s what we used on a daily basis. Ah, the perks of private school.
I know people who swear by each brand and won’t use anything else. I’m more “what makes sense for me to invest in for the next few years.” Here are my thoughts.
Apple / Mac
Pros: High quality, size and weight, portability
Cons: Cost (this is a huge con to me), lack of compatibility with PC stuff
Microsoft / everyone else:
Pros: Large selection, familiarity, cost
Cons: Quality (my last two HP laptops have had major hardware issues)
What do y’all recommend?

I’m a Mac girl! Even with the price, I’d rather pay it once and not have to worry about replacing the computer in 2 years vs shelling out $200-300 every couple of years. We’ve had our iMac since 2008 and it still works great. We really don’t have a compatibility issue either, since almost everything nowadays comes with a Mac version. We have Word/Office on all of our machines.

The syncing across iPhone/other technology is really nice. I have a work Macbook Pro and a personal Macbook air. I can seamlessly transition between both and my phone without any issues.

I’m definitely a MAC girl through and through. Kyle and I both have MACs and we have never had an issue at all.
