Lilly for Target

If you went anywhere near social media yesterday, you probably heard about the Lilly for Target craziness. Personally, I like Lilly Pulitzer’s stuff, but I’m not obsessed. Lilly’s bright prints and lightweight fabrics are great for vacations, but I’m way too cheap to buy anything full price. I tend to buy on their final sale because the prices are so much cheaper. I leafed through the Lilly for Target lookbook and made a mental note about what I wanted to look at. Saturday night, I was in my usual movie-Internet surfing pattern (living the dream here) and saw on Twitter that the Target site went live at 1 am EST. Another perk of MST is that I was still awake at 11 pm. I clicked over to the site, but it crashed. I knew the collection would be available in stores in the morning, so I wasn’t worried.

I decided to stop by Target on my way to church (I do have to drive past Target to get there). I got there after 9:30 and found exactly one thing in my size. To my dismay, this store didn’t get every single item from the lookbook (including the maxi dress and the sandals I wanted). This cute little sundress only cost me $12 after using $5 bounce-back gift cards. It was a good find for the price, and I’m glad I didn’t feel compelled to arrive before 8 am.
