If you went anywhere near social media yesterday, you probably heard about the Lilly for Target craziness. Personally, I like Lilly Pulitzer’s stuff, but I’m not obsessed. Lilly’s bright prints and lightweight fabrics are great for vacations, but I’m way too cheap to buy anything full price. I tend to buy on their final sale because the prices are so much cheaper. I leafed through the Lilly for Target lookbook and made a mental note about what I wanted to look at. Saturday night, I was in my usual movie-Internet surfing pattern (living the dream here) and saw on Twitter that the Target site went live at 1 am EST. Another perk of MST is that I was still awake at 11 pm. I clicked over to the site, but it crashed. I knew the collection would be available in stores in the morning, so I wasn’t worried.
I decided to stop by Target on my way to church (I do have to drive past Target to get there). I got there after 9:30 and found exactly one thing in my size. To my dismay, this store didn’t get every single item from the lookbook (including the maxi dress and the sandals I wanted). This cute little sundress only cost me $12 after using $5 bounce-back gift cards. It was a good find for the price, and I’m glad I didn’t feel compelled to arrive before 8 am.
Did y’all shop Lilly for Target? What did you think?

I was intrigued by all the social media attention, it’s not my style but I wouldn’t have braved the store early even if it was haha.

I can’t imagine liking anything enough to deal with that level of craziness, haha.

I agree. I am not about to sacrifice sleep for some clothes.

I can’t believe you got there at 9:30 and there were still a few items! From what I read, it was madness out there right at 8. I like the dress you got a lot!

The perks of living in Colorado! I overheard some ladies talking to a few associates, and the other stores in town were all sold out. I guess right time, right place.

I’m glad you got something – I heard all kinds of stories of empty shelves and crazy ebay sales. I love the look of Lilly things for summer, but would rather shop final sales or buy them gently used.
Lisa says
Yeah, the final sale is my only other Lilly source.

I have to admit, I’ve been counting down to this launch for months now (hello, Hawaii living!). I’m a Lilly girl, but like you, can’t justify the expensive prices at the store! I waited online, because the time change worked to my advantage as well š I also hit up the store. I have a full post on my top picks coming tomorrow! Thanks for sharing and that dress is going to look so fabulous on you!

I have to think Hawaii isn’t as Lilly crazy as other parts of the US. Glad you got some great finds!

I missed it. I should have just shopped online. Great score though!!
