Ask me answers
Thanks to everyone who asked questions! Here are the answers.
Jen asks: “What is the one thing about Army life you wish you could change?”
Definitely the competition between spouses. I am totally guilty of it, too. We feel a constant need to one-up each other (especially on tough stuff like deployments) instead of supporting each other.
Amanda asks: “Will you guys have kids? Or only furkids?”
We have a charming approach to parenthood: we view it as inevitable. Like you get married, you have kids. At the moment, we have a few goals (mainly financial) we would ideally like to achieve before we start “trying.” But, who knows? We plan, God laughs.
Kate asks the tough questions: “Do you want Michael Brewer to start on Sept. 7? (Of course the fellow Hokie asks a football related question…)”
At the moment, yes. Vanilla Vick is currently 2-0 against the great (LOL) state of Ohio, and we were that 1 in OSU’s 14-1 national championship run. Our freshmen receiver corps will return as sophomores, with the according experience and confidence. And we just hired a coach named Zohn to lead them. And our offensive coordinator is friends with Tom Brady. Surely, they can hang out and Scot can absorb some winning tendencies by osmosis. Really, I missed a calling for a career in sports journalism.
Angie asks: “If you could choice any duty station to PCS to what would it be?”
Well, Carson was high on my list. Fort Lewis is still at the top. I’ve never lived in the Pacific Northwest, and I just really want to. Aside from the world’s most insufferable football team, Seattle seems like a cool place.
Stephanie asked two questions.
1. “What did you want to be when you were little?”
Growing up, I wanted to be a pediatrician, specifically a pulmonologist. I had severe asthma as a child and wanted to help kids like me who dealt with chronic health issues. During my first semester of college, my advisor asked me what my back-up plan for medical school was. That inspired a life crisis that is still unresolved, approaching 9 years later.
2. “What is your favorite date you have had with Mac?”
Well, I have to be cheesy. I don’t have a favorite date because I’ve loved them all. I’m going with two categories, instead: road trip dates and Sam’s Club dates. Mac and I really enjoy finding and trying new places to eat (like the Rusty Moose in Spokane) in places we don’t normally visit. And being old married people, we’re fans of going out to dinner and spicing up the evening by buying meat and paper products in bulk. #bejealous
