“I’m Stacy, and I’m Clinton. And we’re from TLC’s What Not to Wear.”
Last night, I watched the series finale of “What Not to Wear.” I’ve been watching this show the entire time it’s been on the air (all ten years) and have even watched a few seasons of the British version. It was a bittersweet moment, mainly because I never got my makeover. Over the years, I laughed through the embarrassing secret footage, took notes on the rules, and imagined Stacy and Clinton critiquing my shopping choices while at the mall.

Through my high school years, I was overweight and struggled to dress myself properly. Stacy and Clinton’s advice showed me how to pick clothes in my size, regardless of that size. How to present myself through the clothes I put on, even if other people’s opinions really don’t matter to me. And thanks to Carmindy, the stunningly beautiful make-up artist who taught me how to rock the neutral and natural palate I’ve been wearing for a long time, even if I don’t quite look like her. I have the five minute face on lock. It’s sad to see such a great show come to an end.
Did y’all watch “What Not to Wear”? What was your favorite fashion advice?

I was so sad to see this show go. I have been a fan for a long time. I always wished Stacy and Clinton would come tell me how to dress.

Gah. I am so sad that this era has come to an end! I even dressed up as Stacey for Halloween one year! x

LOVED that show. It always made me feel better when I watched it…I would think, “Good, I’m not the only fashion-clueless person out there.”
