And longest post title of the year award goes to me.
I don’t know if y’all have heard the latest rumor floating around the Interwebz: apparently, NSYNC might be reuniting for a performance at the VMAs on Sunday night. I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but the Spice Girls reunion did happen last year.
NSYNC was pretty much the bomb.com back in my day. I remember getting their first (self-titled) album for my tenth birthday in 1998. Nothing like still owning that CD to make me feel older than dirt. In true 1990s fashion, a gang war of sorts erupted between the many boy bands. I myself enjoyed all of them and owned all their albums. But NSYNC stole my heart because they were my first. Some people (cough Manisha cough) are still die hard BSB fans. Bitch will cut you if you hate on BSB.

Like all tween girls (before tween was a word), I had my favorites. Lance was so dreamy and Southern. I literally cried the day he came out. Nick was my fave BSB. Apparently, I like blonde men. Good thing Mac is blonde.
Is that Lance or Ellen? |
And, in true poor decision making form, I stayed up way too late last night and watched a bunch of NSYNC music videos.
My thoughts:
1. I wonder what this music video did for the sales of turtlenecks that year.
2. How many people will admit to having a boy band song as their wedding song?
3. I understand now why I was attracted to a certain fun buddy in college. He looks a lot like JC Chasez. Glad I noticed that five years later after both of us are married to different people.
4. How classic is the straight line to totem pole dance move at the end of this video?
5. Remember when we used to watch TRL after school and tried to learn these sweet, sweet moves? I feel the pain of not seeing y’all together in over TEN years.
5. Only a boy band possesses the panache to make an insane asylum a place where you’d want to hang out.
Ain’t no lie, NSYNC4EVA.

I was a pretty hardcore NSync’er. My girlfriends and I made shirts when we went to their concert. My favorite was Lance (might be a little different knowing what I do now…lol). I interned at CosmoGirl in college and we honored Lance – felt like a giddy school girl again, but had to maintain my composure. Best day ever.

I love this throwback post! A reunion would be amazing. After all, BSB is back together, so it only makes sense for N*Sync to. Although I worry that Justin wouldn’t go along with it because he wants to keeps his solo image.

I was, and still am, I huge Backstreet fan. I mean I even went to their concert earlier this month (the weekend of our first wedding anniversary!). But even so, I was a closest NSYNC fan, and used to feel guilty when buying their cds. And funny enough, Nick was may favorite BSB while Lance was also my favorite NSYNC member.
