Since I graduated college in 2010, my friends and I have used New Years Eve as a way to reconnect after long times apart. In 2010, we met up at a private party hosted by some of our Baltimore friends’ favorite bar. It was open bar, full catering, DJ, the whole nine yards. I was rather impressed.
2011 saw us ringing in the New Year, Bourbon Street style. We decided to go to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl (how far away from that we are at 6-6) and went all out for New Years. We really enjoyed having a private party above the chaos of Bourbon Street.
This year, we’ve found a party at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. It’s another open bar, full catering soiree. Apparently, each ballroom at the hotel is decorated to a certain theme, and your ticket gets you admission to all the rooms. Of course, I need a fancy outfit for such an affair. I’m not going too crazy and have been perusing Target’s party collection. Chances are that I’m going to wear something I already own.
